RE
Religious Education Subject Vision:
At E-ACT The Kingfisher School, Religious Education (RE) plays a vital role in nurturing our shared values of "Work Hard, Be Kind, Have Courage." We believe that RE provides our pupils with the opportunity to explore different faiths, beliefs, and cultures, fostering mutual respect and empathy. Through RE, we encourage our pupils to embrace the challenge of understanding diverse perspectives and developing a sense of spiritual and moral awareness.
- Work Hard: In RE, we encourage pupils to engage deeply with big questions, explore challenging concepts, and reflect on their own beliefs. We strive for academic excellence, promoting a curiosity-driven approach to learning that inspires our children to pursue truth with determination.
- Be Kind: RE teaches us to appreciate the richness of human diversity and the importance of compassion. We foster an environment where children are encouraged to show kindness, empathy, and respect for all faiths and beliefs, creating a harmonious and inclusive school community.
- Have Courage: RE nurtures the bravery to ask questions, seek understanding, and express one’s beliefs. We encourage our pupils to approach difficult topics with an open heart and mind, empowering them to challenge themselves and grow in confidence as they explore their own spiritual and moral journeys.
We use Jigsaw RE as a scheme to support the delivery of our RE curriculum but have made curriculum content choices to support our that we follow as a school are as followed. We currently work on a 2 year cyclical curriculum to support curriculum coverage for our mixed age year groups.
Together, through the study of RE, we aim to help our children become thoughtful, compassionate, and open-minded individuals, ready to make a positive difference in a community.
RE is provided for all pupils, and is inclusive and broad minded. Parents do have the right to withdraw pupils from RE: if you wish to do this, make an appointment with the head teacher / RE subject leader. The school does not support selective withdrawal from RE’.
