Computing

Computing subject vision:

At E-ACT The Kingfisher School, our computing curriculum is designed to inspire and empower every child to confidently engage with technology while embodying the values of 'Work Hard, Be Kind, Have Courage.'

  • Work Hard: We encourage students to embrace challenges in computing, developing resilience and determination to solve problems, debug code, and explore new digital concepts with perseverance.
  • Be Kind: In our digital world, we foster an environment of respect and compassion. Students learn to communicate responsibly, collaborate with others, and use technology in a way that promotes kindness and positive relationships online.
  • Have Courage: We inspire our learners to step outside their comfort zones, developing the curiosity and bravery to explore new technologies and ideas. By encouraging them to ask questions and take risks, we help them become confident, independent thinkers.

Through our computing curriculum, we aim to build a community of lifelong learners, equipped with the skills, mindset, and ethical understanding to thrive in an ever-changing digital world and make a positive, meaningful impact.

E-Safety is of paramount importance to educate our pupils how to stay safe online, E-safety is covered through or computing curriculum, PSHE curriculum and special programmes such as Safer Internet Day.
